untitled #1

A glass pane, clear as crystal.

Sound proof on a single side.

Screaming while watching.

I am not in control.

Pounding on the barrier in front of me.

He won't listen.

He needs to stop.

I'll tell him when he wakes up.

A TV show I put on myself.

Although I hate the main character.

He won't listen as I scream at the screen.

Who wrote this show anyway?

Why can't I change the channel?

Why can't I mute?

Wow this guy is terrible.

Okay I can turn it off now.

But I'll probably tune in tomorrow.

I'm a passenger in my own car.

Being chauffeured by myself.

He's not a great driver.

He doesn't listen to my instructions.

"Turn right here."

"Make a U turn."

"Can you just take me home?"

See? Nothing.

Once a back seat driver.

Once a disapproving viewer.

Once watching behind double-sided glass.

A year in, skies are clearer now.

I get to drive.

I like the show.

I broke the glass.
